Atlantic Strings - Your Violin Shop

Rent-To-Own Program details and Terms and Conditions

Our mission is to provide the very best learning experience possible for every Student while we provide the best value in the business to the Renter.  This is accomplished by our simple customer oriented rental programs.  You will find they do NOT have: hidden fees, changing payments and/or other gimmicks that are not in the best interest of the renter.   For the Student, we provide a better quality instrument that has been professionally adjusted at a GREAT price!

Our two most popular rental programs are: Rent-To-Own and our Flex Rental. Here we explain  our Rent-To-Own program.  (Click HERE - Flex Rental program to view the other)

Rent-To-Own Program Overview

Under our Rent-To-Own program, 100% of all base rental payments made are applied to the purchase of the instrument you choose to rent.   There are no interest, finance or hidden charges with an Atlantic Strings, Inc. Rent-To-Own agreement.  We never inflate or otherwise increase the price of the instruments we rent.  ALSO - your initial rental payment does NOT change during the life of the agreement - it stays at the very low payment you agreed to. You will find that our policies are the most flexible and customer oriented in the industry.

Your Obligation

All Rent-To-Own contracts are for a minimum period of six (6) months.  After this initial period, instruments can be returned without any further obligation.  The full term of a Rent-To-Own contract will have you owning your instrument/outfit in thirty six (36) months or less (depends on instrument rented). The base monthly rental payment is calculated by taking the price of the instrument you select and dividing it by thirty six (36) months (or less - whichever term you choose - up to a maximum of 36 total consecutive months).

How Rent-To-Own works

#1 Select one of the hundreds of quality instruments we have to rent

#2 Determine the monthly rental & tax fees by taking the price of the instrument and adding the tax to it. Then divide this total by the number of months in the rental period that work best for you (maximum 36 months)

#3 Determine the Maintenance & Replacement  (M&R) cost for the instrument selected (this is a monthly fee that starts at $5.00 per month and covers the cost for any repairs or replacement needed due to: damage, theft, fire and loss during the term of the rental period (all at no additional cost to you)

#4 With 2 & 3 above, a total monthly fee will be established. If you are not renting the first day of the month, the fees for the first month will be pro-rated

#5 Provide a Security Deposit based upon the total price of the instrument as follows:

A. For instruments above $500.00 a 10% deposit is required *

(payable in check, credit card or cash and part of the contract)

          B. For instruments from $ 50.00 to $300.00 the deposit required is $40.00*

C. For Instruments from $301.00 to $499.00 the deposit required is $50.00

 * The security deposit will either be applied to the purchase of the instrument or be returned to the renter when the instrument is returned in the same condition and if the rental payments are current

#6 Complete and sign an agreement/contact that clearly defines all of the above

#7 Make the first & last month's payments as well as the Security Deposit via credit card, debit card, check or cash

#8 Take home and enjoy your beautiful instrument!

Other Items of Interest (benefits to you)

Early Payoff - should you decide to pay off your Rent-To-Own instrument early, please take 10% off the  balance due.  The payoff figure can always be calculated by taking the number months left in your Rent-To-Own contract and times that number by the total of rent plus tax for each month.  Then take 10% off that amount to determine your early payoff balance.

Equity

If you rented an instrument under our Rent-To-Own program for 6 or more months, you can apply up to six months of the base rental payments toward any other instrument as an exchange or purchase.
